By Train
Leicester lies on the London (St. Pancras)-Sheffield, the Birmingham-Nuneaton-Peterborough- Norwich and Stansted, and the Coventry-Nottingham-Lincoln lines.
Approximate journey-times and frequencies of trains are:

  • From London 75 minutes/twice an hour
  • From Sheffield 75 minutes/every 1 1/4 hours

By Coach/Bus
Though not always as fast as trains, coaches provide direct and cheap links between Leicester (St Margarets Bus Station) and many other cities.
